2017 Foundation Update
The basis for establishing a Foundation was to honor the memory of Clay Wrege by making contributions to worthwhile charities as well as to annually reward a Floyd Central graduating student who participated in the theater activities at that school.
It was anticipated that the Foundation might sustain for about ten years before all of the contributions were distributed. This thinking was based upon a decision to give away ten percent of the fund balance each year.
The Foundation has now distributed money for seven years and there remains a year-end balance of $27,208. This remarkable total is due in part to contributions during this past year by Sarah Wrege, Charles Boone Schwartzel and Patricia Wrege. The strength of the stock market during this past year along with God’s assurance that he will honor those who tithe has sustained the Foundation.
2017 grants are as follows:
Theatre Scholarships (2): $2,000
You are encouraged to learn more about each of these organizations. The good works they provide and the lives that they save are remarkable.
The Foundation continues. The memories remain. It is satisfying that through the grants distributed from the Foundation, Clay’s life serves additional purpose beyond the pleasure he brought us.
